The “Artificial Intelligence and Creativity” exhibition, which brings Sabancı University’s academic production in the field of visual arts to an international platform, was held within the scope of Sónar Istanbul 2026.

The exhibition, consisting of final projects from the VA 465/565 “Artificial Intelligence and Creativity” course, taught by Prof. Dr. Selçuk Artut within the Sabancı University Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Program, addressed the role of artificial intelligence in contemporary creative practices from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The exhibition, which was part of the program of Sónar Istanbul, celebrating its 10th anniversary, held at Zorlu PSM on April 10-11, 2026, combined the experimental spirit of the festival with academic production. The exhibition positioned artificial intelligence not only as a tool but also as an active stakeholder and intellectual trigger in the creative process.

Projects ranging from AI-powered music videos and game design to photo manipulation, fashion, and stage design showcased the dynamic relationship between human creativity and algorithmic systems. The exhibition, which engaged viewers not only with the resulting works but also with the production processes, opened up a critical and speculative space for discussion on the transformation of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence.
